During a discussion how we could use the type system of TypeScript to prevent errors in our code base a colleagues suggested to derive types from a string template. For instance when using {name} in a URL template to declare a parameter name that is part of the URL.

Today we had a presentation and discussion about our quality assurance process. How we want to ensure that the work that we do is of good quality. During that we couldn’t quite grasp what quality really is. There some metrics involved, like test coverage, test plans or acceptance criteria. But these metrics don’t make quality measurable. You can have a 100% code coverage and still not have a batter product. Quality itself didn‘t emerge as property out of this discussion. It’s not a thing that you can easily measure, like this product has 7 out 10 quality.
